critter design -Lokstep-

I designed these guys a year ago and they originally looked too horse like and I didn't want that. I wanted something dinosaur/dragon like so I desided to redesign them. Haven't done the bodies yet but I'm happy with these headshots.

similarites between female and male Loksteps:
- each have two snake-like teeth which deliver venom into whatever they've bitten
- six legs
- powerful build
- omnivores (females prefer meat while brooding)
- mate for life, cross breeds never happen
- flashy plumage

males:
males are smaller than females and built for fighting and touch conditions. Their snub noses and jutted chins make great battering rams, often breaking large boulders to prove their worth. Physical fights are often avoided because they are violent and rarely end in both surviving. Juveniles live alone for three years till they either join a tribe or start their own.

females:
females are violent yet compassionate. Their thicker plumage proves useful when finding a mate, it is not the males who catch the females attention. The female tests her mate for close to five years before their first litter. They are built for harsh weather and hunting, thinner snouts and legs provide perfect tools for flipping stones to find food.
